Eclipse AVN 6600

Anyone know where to buy the Eclipse AVN 6600 for a good price?

e-bay. I got mine for $1550 shipped. I haven't seen them cheaper than that anywhere. Crutchfield has them for aroun 2K.

is the only difference between the AVN 5500 and 6600 is just the CD/DVD vs DVD/DVD? plus the $300 or so difference

The 6600 has full i-pod interface control - one of the main reasons I upgraded from the AVN2454.

No, I did not. JUst the i-pod controller and sirius receiver.

by the way the gps antenna is hidden inside somehwere in the center console/vent area right?

You can mount it anywhere yiou would like. I ran mine through the defroast vents on the front window. It sits right between the front window and the dash. I know other people that have mounted it within the center console on top of the head unit itself.

avn6600

the avn6600 comes with a dedicated faster graphic cpu for the disply of the GPS. the Dual DVD is a great function. I wonder why they didn't start with dual dvd in the first place. the price isn't much different from one another.

6600 model can also direct one slot of the DVD to the real monitor if needed. you can only do that with the RAS100 that comes with the MRE-700

that is a pretty good location for the antenna. i wonder how can others hide it inside the console/vent area? if it's hidden doesn't it weaken the signals?

It won't come out - too much reflection from the window.
