I saw the eclipse avn2210p in the Urban Runner and liked it. It was just in time when I was looking for a gps to replace my treo since my wife gave me an iPhone. I had it installed but I had to take it out again to install the ipod and steering wheel interface which i got later.

But the pac swi-cle2 was not working, I think it might be defective as there is power going through the wire but would not turn on. Waiting for replacement.

Put back again.

I just need to find a better looking double din :awais:

Pros:
1. No more wires.
2. Sound is much better than stock radio.
3. Ipod control is nice. Charges ipod.
4. Convenient handsfree calling. Good bluetooth connection to iphone.
5. Removable gps.

Cons:
1. Must remove gps in public parking.
2. Ipod starts on the same song everytime. I don't know yet if it's setup issue.
3. Buttons light up red. Not changeable.
4. Must allow radio to complete ipod communication to 100% before using the navigation, otherwise, pressing the skip song doesn't work.

I would recommend it for it's price and the convenience it offer. Circuitcity has it on sale that include installation.

I really like the HID, it's really bright but I have been flashed 3 times now since I had it. I'm considering lowering the beam.

The first time was even a sequioa in front of me in a highway that let me pass then flashed me... other times it was cars on the opposite direction...

Hey Clem, what mounting kit did you use? I plan on getting this same unit real so and think your install looks pretty good. Checking out my options for the install. I'm trying to find the factory bezel but if I can't I am comparing aftermarket mounting kits.

I used the Metra Double DIN Kit, I believe it's 95-8202.

Don't bother with the kit that is used for the JBL system, it does not fit. I tried to customize it but it did not look right. I'm waiting for the kit that came with the urban runner but the dealersship around here doest not know what part number or when it will availble yet.

If you're going to have it installed, make sure you have all the accessories/parts needed like the pac swi for your steering wheel control and the ipod interface.. it's cheaper to have it installed all at the same time that is unless you dyi.

Do you like the way the kit looks? The one in the Urban Runner is the one I am trying to find also.

And I plan on installing it myself, I won't pay to have electronics installed in one of my vehicles.

Keep me in mind if you do find the part number or if you find a place to pick up the bezel from the Urban Runner. I will do the same.

I'm happy with kit but I would rather have the one in the urban runner. I'll let you know if I receive any information about it too.

I can't tell from the pictures, but are your silverstar fogs yellow in any way whatsoever? Or do they give off a very pure white? I'm trying to find a good set that don't look yellow and dingy when compared to my HID kit.

Steering Wheel Controls

I was under the impression that all Eclipse products were plug-and-play for Toyota steering wheel controls and therefore you would not need the pac swi... Did I completely make that up???

The silverstar is ultra white and it looks yellow compared to the hid. I'm actually looking into replacing it to real yellow bulbs. I don't bother turning on the fogs most of the time.

That is what I thought so too not until after the installation that I asked the installer why the steering wheel doesn't work. I needed the pac swi-ecl2 to make the steering wheel work.

Hmmm... Odd. I'm definitely gonna have to look into that some more because I have read multiple sources that said they were plug-and-play. So do you think that the pac swi-ecl2 unit that you installed the first time was just defective?

How do you like the unit as a whole because I'm looking into it for my Runner?

Nope the 5495, 7000 are also not plug and play for the steering wheel controls. There are only a small number of units that are. 5435, 66X0.

Me too since I've been searching for this also. I even have the picture to bring to the dealer to help with my search but still no luck.

If you don't mind, can you provide some night shots showing the beam pattern, cut-off, etc?

I have the Same Eclipse unit that came with my Urban Runner - how do you like it so far?

Not clem18's car but here are some beam pattern shots of our 4300k kit installed in a 06 4runner:
