Eclipse AVN6600... is it worth the wait?

I am in the process of getting my system set-up in my 05 LE, and I was wondering if the differences between the AVN5500 and the AVN6600 are significant enough that it would be worth the wait for the AVN6600 (whose release date keeps being pushed back further and further.)

What do you guys think? I really do not need the dual zone DVD, but is that the only real diferrence?

SINCE NO-ONE ELSE WANTS TO CONTRIBUTE...

I am going to wait. I talked to Eclipse yeasterday, and the TECH rep told me that if I am doind a whole high-end system, I would DEFINITELY notice a nice diferrence in sound quality.

the extra features that cant be looked passed are imo ...


1)Circle surround 2 .. ( for movies )

2)mp3 and wma

3)7 band peq

4)24 bit DAC <------

5)ipod ready

6)TV tuner ready...

O yea.. Dual dvd drive ...

Those are i believe the differences between the two... For me its worth the wait and guessing the extra 300 bones

sorry i can't contribute to your thread, but I'm interested in hearing all about this unit when you get it. I plan on putting this unit or a similar model in my truck (if it ever arrives).

NICE!!! Pictures, please! I am putting either the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 or the Alpine IVA-W200 in my truck in the next few weeks, once I make up my mind (probably the Alpine unit b/c of the full-speed iPod connection).

well from crutchfield's website it does have an optional ipod controller.

too bad there's no bluetooth
