Yes! They are there for lighting. I just put in 4 round 7" LEDS on mine. I'll post photos.

I have an awning that I'm going to place on mine. I'll get back to you on how I plan on doing it.

It looks like those 4 indentions on the front are made to hold individual light mounts. Is that your plan Rorck? On the Ecotechne website, it shows those 4 indentions with like a separate infill triangle piece that bumps up, instead of leaving the indention open like it is on your rig. Do these racks in the group buy come with those 4 infills?

Based on the photos, it looks like there are 5 areas where cross bars can be mounted and each area has 3 screw holes. It looks like the trays fill in the gaps between the cross bars. So, would it be safe to say that if you did not have a sunroof and you wanted the entire top to be a rack floor, your would need 5 cross bars and 4 trays? I'm not interested in that many, I just want to best understand where all of these bars and trays are eligible to be mounted.

If the rack uses the mounts in place with no drilling, then is that entire front area basically floating? If you use body weight and pull down on that, does it come in contact with the roof?

You obviously have this already mounted on your rig and I'm curious what your impression of wind noise is.

To the first question, yes the four indentions in the fron are for lighting, I can ask about the filler plates for the inventions but I'm almost positive they got rid of the plates the indentions are just perfect so that you can run 4 pods and or a light bar. I will post pics this evening on what I did with them. In my opinion they look killer with the LED pods but I'm sure a lot of people won't be to happy with what I did.

As for the second question, yes if you got enough crossbars and plates you'd ese able to cover the whole roof solid I got a video of how it cann be mounted last night but I can't get it uploded. Also It does clear the shark fin if you don't go all the way back to the last hole.

The rack uses the factory mounting points so it does free float toward the top but agai, it is solid! I was iffy about how that would hold so when I first installed the rack, I paced the tray towards the front, sat on it and nothing moved.

Over all I'm very happy with it. I wish they had mounts for shovels, lifts and other accessories but after a lot of feedback they are now working on releasing more options.

The trail rack along with the basket I previously had made way more noice than this rack. I really didn't notice any noice until I added the recovery board on the hood rack. Now my MPG are bad and the noice is really bad but yeah no nice noticed coming from the roof rack. As for the Gobi ladder, I haven't opened my hatch much but it seems to clear it. I'll get some footage and pics this evening.
