ECT button

I just bought a 88 sr5 4x4 and im wondering abous what the ECT button is for i looked in the book and i couldnt find anything about it.

also im wondering about putting 31s on it and im looking for people who have done this.

it has to do with holding the rpms longer between shifting gears

Correct, it changes the shift points. The power position lets it wind out more before shifting.

I just bought an '87 SR5 turbo T4R....and it came with 31x10.5s:

that's with an add-a-leaf and a little extra tension on the front torsion bars

great looking truck man. Did you swap the older grill on it?? Looks clean makes me want to buy another 4runner.

I didn't, but yes, it's got a different grill. the PO salvaged it, it had been used in a robbery, driven through a plate glass storefront, then abandoned. it got bumper, grill, headlights, hood, fenders, and radiator, and therefore new paint....but that was about 8 years ago.

they are 33" tires on 15" rims, when i get back home i will look at the exact size and post it. thanks.
