Ect switch

My ect switch on my 99 4runner is not working, how do I chage it??how do change the ect switch on 99 4runner??

I believe you'll have to change the entire assembly with the ECT, rear window and passenger seatbelt light. You may be able to just swap out the ECT/window switch part, but I'm not sure.

I bet the switch is fine, but the light indicator is burned out or loose.

If the ECT is not functioning properly you would be able to tell that there is no difference in shifting when in the power mode vs economy mode.

It's pretty noticeable on mine. I use it only when entering the freeway. Most of the on-ramps here are the cloverleaf style, leaving very little room to accelerate. Couple that with the idiots that bunch up in the right lane leaving you no room to get on, and I am often flooring it to merge onto the highway. ECT holds the gear longer and gives you a bit more acceleration.

My point being that if you notice a difference when you change modes, the switch and ECM are working and it's just the bulb.
