Just walked out and measured: 78" with the loft and 285 ko2's.

Just for kicks, measured the bottom of the doorway: 25". Unfortunately my wife is now refusing to drive, said it's too tall.

She told me to buy steps. Sliders are next on the list!

The perfectionist in me would probably go crazy with always seeing (and knowing) that the rails were not flush on the front and back. I like the look of the rack but not enough to override my eyes as they would always wander to those sections. :decision:

Definitely wind noise.

But every time I have ever put something on the roof of a car I've had noise.

I have no idea how it compares to others.

I've been meaning to install the wind deflector that came with it to see if it helped.

To me, considering the large amount of surface area I've added to the roof, the noise level is definitely acceptable.

I haven't taken it into any parking garages yet but my wife's van is 84" and barely fits in every garage I've had to fit it in. I should be fine.

I hear you on perfectionism.

But on things that are built and crafted by someone else, there has to be a certain amount of control relinquishment.

I really wouldn't let this deter you.

Not sure how tall you are but it's far from eye level for me and I literally forgot about it until it was mentioned in my thread here.

It's probably 72" up from the ground and if you're of a similar height to me, you'd have to be right on it, on your toes to even see it.

I guess this statement should also be considering my approximate 3" lift.

I see that the front and rear ends of the rails are sticking up in the air as the roof line curves down. There's no way to plant the ends of the rails tightly against the roof? .

It's really easy to get those rails flush. You just need to tighten the front 2 sets of legs with the very front tall and then push up on the rear of the rack, put some weight on the front (About 60 lbs) while keeping the rear up. The rails sit flush and you tighten the rear with the rack level. front end sits flush no problem. Took an extra 10 minutes. The guy from equipt did this too.

In the rear picture, you can see where I replaced the unnecessarily huge shark fin with the bump from the Camry. They hold the exact same antenna. Mystery why they chose that huge fin...
Currently, in order to get it to sit lower, the legs are set with the lower part to the outside. I'm going to chamfer them and set them correctly down the road.

Looks like I know who to enlist for install help once I get one of these ordered this fall to upgrade from my POS Baja! Just need to figure out if I want the tall legs or low legs...I like the table they sell to accompany the rack so that might be the decision point.

You should swing by and check mine out with the short legs. I think if you put it up the table would still fit (really close though).

Do you know if the Camry XM antenna will work on the 2016 model 4Runner? I really need to get that shark fin out of there. I read on the forum here that the plug connectors are the same between 2010 through 2015 but different on the 2016 4Runner. Even still, I think Ishould be able to cut and swap connectors from my outgoing shark fin to the new Camry one, right? Where did you get your Camry antenna?

You just need the cover. the electronics just swap out so the plug doesn't matter. If you spend more than ~$40 you are doing it wrong.

Any plans to install ladder? Does K9 have a ladder option? I did not see one on the website. The ladder is one of the options that I feel is a bonus with Gobi.

I don't believe there is an ladder option from them.

I've seen others run the Gobi ladder or just get a telescoping one and keep in the truck.

I've been thinking of getting a Gobi one.

Maybe. I think the bigger issue may be not scratching the spoiler. The space is actually decent and that table is insanely thin. But getting the table in and out may be tricky.

Feel free to order the parts and we can do a trial fit on mine. If it's too tight you know to buy the long legs.

I just received my 2012 Camry XM low profile antenna and eager to get the roof rack and table on but would love to confirm the table will work with the short legs and the low profile antenna. If it will work without the antenna with the short legs, I think I'll make plans to relocate the antenna forward of the moon roof and install a custom roof guard in the oEM antenna hole to prevent roof scratches from taking the table in and out.
