EGR and emissions

I have an 88 4runner and am looking to disconnect the EGR and associated emissions equipment (EGR valve is bad and as such slowly kills the engine). My question is what can I disconnect (such as vacuum tubes) and what do I have to leave connected.

Another unrelated topic is there any way to lower the back window without the motor working?
