EGR Question...?

Hey guys! What is the EGR? And how do I know if my 4Runner has it or not? I asked because I'm planning on getting Doug Thorley Headers. Thanks!

Look at the label on the passenger underside of your hood. It will say if you have egr. If you have questions, just post a pic of the label or a shot of the driver side of the engine bay looking down and I can let you know.

EDIT:
The Vehicle Emissions Control Information is located on the underside of the hood. Look below where it says Evap family. If EGR is listed you have it. Below that is the engine tune up specs. Hope that helps direct you to the right place.

the 3.4s have an EGR valve right behind the throttle body. It looks round and has hoses coming out of it. EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

Some 3.4's have an EGR.
