Eibach Pro truck V.S. Bilstein 5100

I have just made the switch from Bilstein 5100s (40k miles on them) to the New Eibach Pro Trucks.... So are they better.....
YES!!!

I have taken them offroading on gravel roads, bouldery roads, dirt roads, and technical boulder crawling as well as normal street and highway driving.

My alignment tech, who is a Offroader too, and a really smart technician agrees they are much smoother then the 5100's. They just feel a lot smoother/plusher.
They appear to be well built and look like they will hold up well. They have a clear protective coating over the Eibach logo's, showing attention to detail, as a plain printed logo or sticker would wear/come off. This just shows that they pay attention to detail and care about their product.

They are $40-60 more then the 5100's (on Wheelers offroad) and worth every penny.

How do they do at higher speed in desert terrain? Not race speeds, just good tempo speeds over constant dips and washes, and tons of small rocks.

Really well, Im in Vegas. We got up to 30-40mph on that type of terrain. Pretty smooth and not too bouncy. I think they are quitter... my rear use to slam off boulders, like a loud clunk on rebound. Its really quiet and mild now.

Gang, I want to get ahead of this because Jeremy has provided a very clear example. We include all these notes and detail in our instructions, but people still find a way...

The image in this quote is actually showing the perch installed UPSIDE DOWN. They look corrected in the installed image so no worries for Jeremy, but just want to get ahead of this for anyone referencing this post.

Make sure your perches are flipped with the "collar" facing toward the top of the shock.

HA! Good catch! I just pulled them out of box and through a perch on real quick for the pic. I usually do my own install and certainly would of caught this, but I had knee surgery so I had a buddy do the install at his shop as well as replacing some other worn components and a fresh alignment.
But yes, it should be obvious which way the perch goes for those out there doing it themselves. The springs shape matches the perch and will sit nicely in them. If you had the perch upside down the spring would sit cockeyed.

Is it worth getting Eibachs if not carrying extra weight up front?

Yes. Weight is not an issue for shocks. Springs are what matter for weight changes.
