Eibach shocks

I have been looking into eibach coilovers for my 96. I am seeing different styles of the front shocks pictured everywhere I can’t find any installed pictures on a 3rd gen or any discussions of this. Some pictures show a full shock body down to the lower eyelet, while others show it slim down to a small shaft. Toytec shows one with the kit and the other image with the shocks by themselves. Same part numbers so clearly it’s just generic images. Can anyone confirm this or also have some ride reviews of these shocks.

I have a set I’m looking to sell.

They came uninstalled with my 3rd gen. Previous owner didn’t like the ride so switched.

In reading other’s posts I think the Eibach need a little more weight.

He didn’t have a heavy custom bumper just stock, so I’m guessing that is why he didn’t like it. My understanding is the 600 lb/in Eibach are too stiff for a 3rd gen without extra weight on board.

Others can correct if that isn’t their experience, this is all third hand!

The ones that slim down are for the 4th gen+ 4Runner and FJ Cruiser.

Eibach offers 2 different styles of coils for our trucks. The pro lift coils are 577lb spring rate (I called Eibach) and the Toytec/eibach are 620lb. One is sold as 3” lift the other 2.5”-2-75”. I have had the toytec ones on tundra 5100s and I would say yes they are too heavy for no weight. Hopefully the lighter coils on the lighter valved eibachs will be better.

So you have the EIBACH pro truck shocks for a 3rd gen 4runner? And you’re putting in the112-620-P coils sold by toytec? How does that ride?
