Election Day 2014

This year we have the chance to completely change a large portion of Congress. All 435 seats in the House are up for election, 38 states will vote for a Governor, and 33 Senate seats are up for grabs.

Are there any big races in your area? How have recent events influenced how you'll vote? Will you blindly re-elect the incumbent or will you challenge him/her to work for your vote or pack their things? Is there anything a politician can do/say that would make or break your vote this year?


Let's try to keep this civil, also...I know it only takes a page or two for this kind of topic to turn into a sh!tshow, so let's be adults here.

I'm particularly excited about this election because it's our first chance to vote on the "progress" that King-- I mean, Governor Cuomo made.
I think this year we're gonna send him packing.

Also on my ballot is NY District 1 for the House where a guy I went to High School with is running against the long-standing Democrat, Tim Bishop. He's running as a Republican/Independent with a little bit of Tea Party flare to him. I like him.

I try not to vote party-politics, I'll actually look into each candidate who's up for a seat. Someone who's very constitutionally savvy will be on my ballot. I like Tea Party guys because they're the only ones left with balls and the desire to actually do something with their office. I'm very against gun control, "common sense" or not, no matter how they sell it, I'm against anyone who supports Obama's, Bloomberg's or Cuomo's attack on civil liberties and I will vote someone like that out in a heartbeat.

Here in Texas Gov Rick Perry will be leaving his spot open and since TX is still mostly red, the Republican Greg Abbott is almost a shoe-in. His big liberal challenger is Democrat Wendy "Fetus-Flush" Davis who made sort of a name for herself last year in a long filibuster to slow down abortion regulation.
Granted the abortion topic alone is extremely divisive but I would be personally horrified if this woman became Gov of Texas. Her filibuster was pointless because the law was passed anyway and includes a restriciton that elective abortions not occur after 20 weeks of pregnancy, but one can only assume Ms. Davis would prefer the option to abort the baby at any stage of pregnancy through the 9th month.
Regardless of your abortion position, I find it hard to believe this decision cannot be made by the 5th month of pregnancy.
Anyway beyond the Gov race we've got a few congressional seats up. Since I blame Obama/Reid/Pelosi and their whole gang for the downfall of the country, there's no way i can vote for a Democrat in any race coming up.

I will most definitely be voting in my great state of West Virginia!

A lot of Americans died to enable us to keep the right to vote. If you don't exercise that right - then STFU. You have no right to complain about who, or what's in office.

Voter Qualification Test
1. Write your name in English
2. How many states are there in the United States
3. How many years can the president serve

That's all, 3 questions. Pretty sure that little test would disqualify half the potential voters.

If everyone had to take that test we'd be without Obama who was quoted as saying "What do you mean the U.S. doesn't consist of 57 states?"
