electric fan conversion

hey guys. new to the 4runner forum. site wont let me post pics of my beast. NUMEROUS mods. one thing i wanna do is find some way to put a temp sensor to control when my dual electric fans come on. for now ive just got a switch beside the E-brake. during the winter i dont even use it cuzz its cold enough and the engines NOT gonna over heat. in the summer, while driving i just leave it on. its not a trouble or anything to have to turn it on and off, but it would be cooler to have a sensor. long story short, i dont know where i would begin finding such a sensor...or even hooking it up.

They sell controllers for electric fans. They come with a sensor. Some slide thru the fins on the radiator or are mounted inside the radiator hose. I would go with the type that goes inside the hose.

Some people also do a switch to shut the fan off so when doing a water crossing the fan doesn't break blades.

ok. where would i go about getting something like that? parts place?

As for cheap fan (no idea if they fit a 4runner) the best electric pullers are the Altima, Taurus and Crown Vic.

Shroud is everything, don't try those silly eBay fans that attach directly to the radiator either.

ya. well ive got two 14 inch electric fans just mounted to the rad already. have had for months. does the job fantastic. just want the temp sensor to control them
