Just wondering if anyone has done a Electric fan & shroud setup in place of stock engine fan? And if so any big mileage change? Would like any input.

Don't know much about it, but I heard from a guy that owned an FJ that it can greatly incease MPG. Would like to know more about it also.

It is a really good idea. For one it would probably quiet the engine down a lot. It is also nice to put it on a switch so you can turn the fan off during forging through water. That way you ensure you wont mess the fan all up when its running and hits the water at high speed, destroying the blades on the fan.

I have used flex-a-lite a lot in the past. The make good products. I would search their website and measure the radiator (width and height). Then you can find a good size fit and put it on. Not sure what it entails to remove stock fan, I have not looked into it at all.

Biggest problem is weather it will cool the engine properly when its all installed. A good shroud goes a long way to ensure the fan is pulling all it can through the radiator.

You can also put fans on the outside of the radiator pushing air through, or a mixture of both to get the proper cooling you need.
