Electric fan

So me and my friends were joking about how my 4runner sounds a bit like an air conditioner and one of the guys i was talking to said that if i replaced the fan i've got with an electric fan then it wouldn't drown out the exhaust note on my 4runner. I drive 2001 3.4L v6. Anyone have a similar problem?

I thought I read that matt Starr had done an electric fan retrofit, but I can't seem to find anything on it and I beleive he's banned so probably can't ask him directly unless he's still over at YT. Have you tried doing a search in the 3rd gen forum for electric fan?

i have a lincoln mark VIII e-fan. it works just fine
