Recurring electrical problem - but where to look?

There are no automatic doorlocks anymore.
If I pull the key out of the ignition with the headlights on, there is no warning ding. And the dome lamp stopped working (rear lamp also).

When I replace the 15Amp dome fuse in the engine bay, it works for a few days. Weeks. Or months.

And then at some point, it blows again.

Where is the most common place to look for an intermittent short?

Check the rear hatch wiring harness first

Does anyone know if the front door/dome/ding and rear hatch window/licenseplatelilght harnesses are on the same fuse circuit?

Just about a year ago the license plate light and rear window didn't work from the switch up in the cockpit but I spliced at least a half dozen wires broken at that time.

But even with all those broken wires, the 15A "DOME" fuse in the engine bay didn't blow.

Do you think both front door and rear hatch harnesses are on the same 15A fuse circuit?
