Electrical short when raining?

I recently had my entire rear gate replaced. They ordered a new gate and swapped the guts from my old into the new. A few weeks later it was raining and my headlights started turning on ( after the car was off for a few hours). The battery was cooked the next morning. I took the truck to toyota and they beat me for an overpriced battery and said it could of been from needing a new battery. Now it rained again all night and went out to a drained battery. I'm convinced that the collision shop that put the new gate together pinched a wire or something.
Couple questions?

How do I get the rear interior panel of the gate?

Anyone else ever have any thing like this happen or any thoughts on where to look?

Thanks

Having a problem like this, I personally would take the ride back to the shop and let them know what the problem you have had since repaired by them. bring the receipt and what was stated by Toyota, and the reoccurring problem after the next rain.

Go in and demand they take care of the problem. If they refuse, take it back to Toyota to be fixed and send them the bill, with a assist from a lawyer, let them know that's what your going to do before taking it there.
