elocker breather, why people dont extend it?

So theres many topics on the rear axle breather. But people with elocker axle should also check their elocker breather. If you look closely at the actuator and the harness, the breather is attached to the harness. It is higher but not that high.

Here i am holding the breather


i am going to extend it to the gas cap area and maybe install a little filter or a breather plug.

anyone do this?

People do extend it.
Yes- people definitely do this.
That being said, it's already "extended" from the factory- it's routed to the bottom of the body, so much higher than the axle breathers.
It's a pretty common problem for e-lockers to fail from the breather line cracking though, so replacing the line isn't a bad idea at all.

This is one of the first things I did to mine as I also noticed the breather was basically the top of the pumpkin. I extended mine up towards the gas tank fill line.

good to know, it was just interesting that all people talk about is extending the axle housing breather, but never mentioned the elocker... as if they didnt know about it. Yes it is higher then the axle housing breather, still i think it is good to extend it

no sir, the elocker breather looks to be 1/8" size, and the original breather on it looked like it was a small rubber, with a splice in it. I will install a 1/8" splitter and attach a vacuum like, run it to the gas cap area and probably install a small filter or adapter to accept the Toyota breather. Another option would be to find a T fitting that will accept the bigger line and the smaller line and just make it into one breather

I will. It won't be rocket science lol. I went and ordered fittings to extend the line. 1/16 and 1/8 which ever fits better. As far as the breather. Not sure what I will use. Maybe a small filter.
