Check your brake fluid level. If low, fill it. Happened to me.

:iagree: the e-brake light doubles as brake fluid low indicator. In the past, if the light comes on again after the first top-off, then brake pad replacement is coming up soon.

Simply filling the brake fluid reservoir is not a good idea.:ak472:

Many things could be wrong with your brake system that cause low fluid. Fix the cause and not the symptom of low fluid. . .

It may simply be brake pads that may need to be changed. Check the pad on all 4 wheels, if they need to be replaced, do this first. Then top off the brake fluid. Better yet, follow recommended maintance schedule and replace the brake fluid every 2 to 3 years (complete brake system flush). This simple maintenance item will save you money on future brake jobs if you plan on keeping your 4 runner for a long time.

If the pads are not bad, you need to look for other causes of low fluid (leaks in brake lines, calipers, brake fittings, caliper bleed valves, reservoir, master cylinder etc).

Mine just started doing this. Seemed to start with the colder weather, but if I pump the brakes to mine the truck wobble it goes on/off. Must be fluid low? I'll check it andd hopefully that's it.
