Emergency Brake Relocation!?

I have searched without prevail. Has anyone moved there e-brake? I was thinking about converting to the pull handle style that goes under the steering colomn. I believe 2nd gen style. This would give me more room for a Bigger custom middle console. Any ideas?

Wow...I suffered for 13 years with the umbrella handle under the dash, and someone actually wants that system.

First generation Tacoma's use the pull handle e brake. You should be able to use the coresponding parts to make it work.

Keep us updated on the center console.....

This.....

Its 5 spd. And why did you not like the handle? Had one on my Tacoma and loved it. Just trying to give myself more space. Thans Singtoe

Here's what my brother did. I'm ATTEMPTING the same thing, simply because my e-brake is shit with my rear lift. Not NEARLY enough cable to be able to make it work, and the fact that the brake cables hang below the axle housing is shit.

You can get some Tacoma Backing Plates, and put them on your axles to raise the cables, but that's not your concern.

Again, this is what my brother did, and I'm going to be attempting the same thing, just keeping my center console e-brake.

Bringing this one back from the dead.

Any progress with this? I'm going this route for the same reason. Also deleting the rear heater.

I am working on putting a 1st gen Tacoma ebrake in and wondered if you had any suggestions of pit falls to avoid. I have all the hardware just need to make one bracket and drill the hole by the gas pedal. I have a spare 4runner frame that I'm going to mock everything up on for the underside before doing the final install.

Thanks ahead.
