I am not sure if this is a standard fear but it is not in mine. I have the base SR5. This is minor but it has bothered me that there is no bell/tone alarm when the ignition key is in or headlights are kept on. It does not remind you of leaving the key in the ignition or walking away with the light s on. They do not automatically turn off. There have been times where I could have easily locked my keys in the car or left the lights on. The reminders for both of these is absent.

I'm one of those idiots that turns the lights off manually and lock/unlock the door with the key.
But I have noticed in my SR5 that there is a chime when door is open and keys in.
Might have a dealership set these things for you

I can cask the dealership but I hope it not too expensive.Did you purchase your 4Runner used? Both of those chimes should be standard, but they can both be disabled with Carista. If you purchased used, the previous owner could have turned them off. Your headlights should also turn off after a minute or a double click of the lock button on the key.
