is it cranking slow? the battery makes cars not crank as fast thus not starting as quick as it should

Don't know if you've seen it, but there is a good thread going on right now over at yotatech about cold start cranking. I know your's isn't cold start, but I think the issue in general is all related to the same cause. Too bad nobody has pinned it down yet. My truck has a horribly long cold start crank. But warm start is usually fine.....although it's not consistent.

Blind guess - fuel pressure regulator or a leak in the fuel system near the injectors allowing the pressure to bleed off when it's parked? Try cycling the ignition key a few times to "pump up" the system before starting.

Same here. Takes me 6 or 7 cranks during a cold start. 3 or 4 from a hot one. Been doing this for years.

Idle air control.
If cranking isn't the issue, it won't be starter contacts.
Try priming the fuel system before cranking as suggested, and at least you can narrow down your search to fuel or spark.

I'm going to take my IAC apart and clean it and see if it helps my issue. I've had one apart before, on a friends truck.
Yes, it's on the bottom of the throttle body, and requires a little bit of work to take off, but not much. You have to disconnect the coolant lines that run into it.
Then to clean it, you have to break the seal on the plastic plug part and take it apart. When you put it back together, carefully use some RTV to reseal it, and reseal the screw holes. It'll all make sense when you're doing it.

I did a little more testing.
Once again. It starts just fine first thing in the morning.
After driving (getting up to normal operating temp) It cranks too long to start. When it fires, it runs normal.
I drove it, stopped, hung a charger on the battery. I let it set a half hour and tried to start it. Long cranking.
I have noticed that when I crank it a second or two, stop cranking, then give it a second try it'll fire right up.
I have also tried to just turn on the key, let it sit a few seconds then try cranking. It'll still crank long before firing.
