engine fart noise

i have a 1995 v6 sr5 4runner. when i let go of the throttle coming from the passenger said the engine makes an engine fart is how i would describe it. the sounds seems like its coming from below.....any ideas??? thank you for your help!

Mine was doing that and it was an exhaust leak at the gasket before the catalytic converter.
