So on the truck i just bought, i pulled the plugs and saw they had single prongs in there. i changed them to denso double prongs, as well as ngk wires. now there's a knock when i'm on the throttle. at around 4k-5k rpms there's a loud knock.

i tried pulling the efi fuse for a few minutes. didn't work.

don't know what else to try.

Anytime there is a problem after a wire change, the first thing is to check your wire routing:

1-4
2-5
3-6

The difference is always 3.

i disconnected the efi again for an hour, then the battery for 30 mins... all fixed now. not sure what that was all about

Sounds like it may have been pinging/detonation.

Considering the EFI/ECU reset fixed it, it could have been no adapted to the new plugs and pulling too much ignition advance at the higher RPMs.
