Engine Light Came On - Has this happened to anyone?

On my way to work today and I noticed the engine light is on as well as a light that says VSC TRAC and VSC OFF.

Has anyone had this issue? How much was it to fix?

When this happened to me it was caused by an alternator gone bad due to a critter chewing through the insulation on a wire. The wire contacted the engine block and shorted the alternator. Not cheap to fix.

O2 sensor is probably the most common cause of this followed by the Yaw sensor being out of calibration.

I am currently replacing my O2 sensor for this and it was confirmed by my scanner that it was bad.

I took the positive wire off the battery and pluged back in. When I turned the car back on it was gone. I did this yesterday and it hasn't came back on since. ??????????
