engine light ?

A couple of weeks ago I was 4 wheeling my 2000 5speed 4runner. As I was going down a steep rocky hill (I live in Az), I stalled the motor. When I started it back up I notice that the engine light came on. I started it up like I normally do, didn't push start it or anything like that. Motor was running fine and the water temp gauge was fine, so I wasn't concerned. Once I got to the bottom of the hill I turned it off and started it a couple of times to see if the engine light would go off. It didn't didn't. I looked under the hood and didn't see anything wrong. I disconnected the battery, reconnected it and that took care of the light coming back on.

It's been two weeks and the light hasn't come on. Vehicle is my DD and is fine. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why the engine light came on.

I can't even guess as to why but maybe the code is still stored. I would have it read at an auto parts store to see if anything comes up. It's also a good idea to not clear codes until they are read. You don't want to throw away what may have been an early warning

Have you plug in a code reader the found out what code is it?
If it came back on it means there is something wrong so go to Autozone and rent a OBDII code reader and find out the code

What do you mean its too late? When you get around to getting the code, if you need help decoding it I can help
