Engine Louder- Not Exhaust

How would one go about making their engine louder? I don't want a louder exhaust; that sounds just fine. What I want to hear is the engine itself.

Remove any sound deadening that is inside the engine compartment. Not really sure why you would do this though.

you can also buy a CAI which will provide a throaty deeper sound specifically under acc.

PS. Loud gets old pretty fast... for me at least.

:iagree: with both. a K&N cai would make it seem louder under the hood if thats what your looking for, but the engine itself? why?

You could pour some sand in the oil fill... That would make it louder, at least for a little while.

K&N Cold Air Intake. I had it on for a few months before my muffler and loved the sound and love it even more after my muffler. But if you're looking for a good sound without any exhaust mod's then stick with a Cold Air Intake. You'll love it.

If you're looking for just a bit smaller increase, do the deck plate mod. I did a write up awhile ago after I did mine. You'll notice a difference but nothing like a CAI.

You have a V8?
I put at regular K&N and took out the charcoal filter out of the airbox. I'm all stock other than that and LOVE the sound of my V8. It's not loud with normal driving, but wakes up when I step on it. CAI would be best as it bypasses the silencer and such on your intake tube.
