Engine on 92 3.0 stops running sometimes

I have around 200,000 on my 92 3.0, SR5
Just recently it will not keep running although it fires up just fine then dies out
Seems as if I let cool down for awhile it will start up after 4 or 5 attempts then am able to get it home. So far it died on me once while drive on the street. The problem happens after I have been running around town.
Just took it to a shop and of course it is running okay and he can't find anything that is the cause
Anyone have similar experiences and what were the remedies?
I was thinking maybe a lack of spark, can't believe its the fuel pump
Maybe the Air Flow meter?
Just taking wild guesses
Any advice would be very helpful

Thanks

Have you checked to see if any CEL codes have been set?
I'm going to move this to the Classics section for you.

Igniter, at least that was my problem when I had a similar problem. After the engine compartment warmed up, the igniter overheated and would cut out causing stalls and such.
