I have a 2006 Toyota 4Runner with 88,000 miles.
I took a long trip (400 miles) last week. I had been running the air conditioner most of the trip, but it was set pretty low.
Towards the end of the trip while I was driving on the interstate, the engine started revving out of no where.
On a flat road, the RPMs would jump up to 4,000 and then back down. It did this a couple of times. I turned off the AC and it seemed to work fine.
This is the first time it has done this. I try to maintain the truck as much as possible and get it serviced regularly.
Thoughts on what may have caused this?
Thanks,.
