Could be multiple things going against you but if it was me, I'd go ahead and at least swap the spark plugs (with NGKs) wires (NGK is good here too). You could also get coil packs but these are a bit more expensive. I did have a problem with one awhile back and this sorted it out. Thankfully there are only 3 and not 6. I'd at least replace the one that pulled apart when you tried to take it off.
Lastly, I've had this type of issue from a vacuum leak. Specifically, it was at the last rubber boot of the intake before it attached to the throttle body. It can be hard to see but sometimes if you pushdown in the middle of the intake system to deflect the rubber, cracks will show and that can be a source of the vacuum leak. I've also had vacuum leaks over on the driverside towards the firewall on some of those EPA system hoses.
