engine swap computer questions

ok long time no talk, here is what I've done and what my problem is. Changed 1994 3.0 liter to recently rebuilt 1993 3.0 from truck that got wrecked. truck was also 4x4. Truck ran for a few minutes with 94 computer and then stopped.Don't think 94 will work with 93 motor, any other changes i should look at.
anyway i guess i need to change computer from 94 to 93??? does it make a difference that 93 was a 4x4??? I have both computers help

An ecu from a 3vze will work with all 3vze engines I believe. There is no special 4x4 part of the ECU.

The ECM doesn't know what year engine is connected to it.

not positive on the 3.0 , as it's usually the engine coming out for swaps . but I do know in the 3.4 , differant years DO make a differance pin outs and sensors are different

The ECU's are interchangeable. You have other issues, buddy.

yes i figured out

and we are running good. problem was a weak ground in wiring harness causing a weak spark, I did not find! an expert did. Also a clogged cat converter. Now I have a computer for sale. ats it worth?
