Engine ticking

I hear you...I was not aware of it prior to purchasing the 4R but now that I have seen everyone else talking about it, and the fact that lubricants quiet the engine now tremendously, I am very happy with the truck. The fuel additive is a plus all around, I now get a little bit better gas mileage (1-2 Mpg overall) and it feels and sounds smooth and quiet. Now I can dedicate some time and $ to mods!!:D

Try the Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner, that stuff works good. It pays for its self in fuel conservation. The plus is that it cleans your fuel system really good. It idles smoother now. As far as the ticking noise i dont have any of that at all, not while i had this car anyways.

After two years and about 32k miles my 06 SE V6 seems to have stopped ticking. I had no luck with the dealer, usual excuses. I had given up on it since it seemed to be harmless. The last few weeks I haven't heard it. I have always used Mobil 1, but no other special treatment. Except for the tick, it has been perfect. Maybe Toyota has developed a self repair technology.
