I have a 99 4 runner and to this point have had no issues at all. it has 64000 on it and recently had the timing belt changed. The other day I was driving down the road and noticed a very minor vibration in the engine at 2300 RPM and up. This noise has consistently gotten worse. It sounds like a valve issue or something of the like. it always happens at higher RPM or going up hills the worst. Now my check engine light has come on. So I have to take it to the garage (first call and get appt) I am somewhat worried though and was wondering if any of the mechanic types might have some input on what it might be???
Any suggestions????
Second ... When i try to start the 4runner it seems to crank more than normal. I didn't know if its a toyota thing or not but I have to turn the key and let the engine crack over a good 3 or 4 or more times before she fires. Is this normal?
I had all the maintenance done regularly. I sure hope my engine isn't on its way out. I REALLY can't afford that.
thanks if anyone has any input or knowledge to share.
