Hello everyone. This is my first post in this very informative Toyota forum. My wife and I recently purchased our 2005 T4R Sports Edition and loving every moment of our commuting life. What a difference it has from our Honda CRV (now the sole property of my wife's, LOL).

What's the best set of tires that's recommended for it then? And what is the issue with the Grandtrek? Thanks.

I drove mine for 2 years inlcuding 2 winters, tons of logging roads and some medium duty off-roading......they're far from the best tires out there, but they're not THAT bad and far from dangerous.

I have Revos and they were very much worth the $600 for them. To me, the AT20's were horrible---dangerous in the rain, sucked when it came to stopping, and I wasnt even going to try to use them in the winter. Look at the other posts here on this website, and you will see for yourself. They havent been called "Dunflops" for just any reason.

PS - I have the same tires and have off-roaded with them as well as some spirited driving on the hard top. No problems from my side. Mud might be a different matter tho.

Hey, a big THANK YOU VERY MUCH for adding me to the list. I'ts an honor. I would love to go to the BIg Bear meet but my job is not very permissive. I know you guys will have lots of fun there. I know it's going to be a blast because we've (the SoCal members of the BlitzPigs) had a similar meet one time in Mojave. One of the Pigs worked at the Scaled Composite (the company owned by Burt Ruttan who has launched the Spaceship One into space recently) and it was one of the best moments we've had as a group. You guys enjoy.
