entune issue with messaging on android phone

My android phone (moto z force droid) is paired to the entune and the bluetooth is enabled. However, I noticed this morning that my phone was sending the auto reply message because I was driving and it wasn't delivering it to entune. Now it worked the other day, so I'm not sure what's different..If I turn the driving mode off it turns bluetooth off so that won't work. Could it be the auto reply?

Anyone else run into this and have a solution?

it had nothing to do with the outgoing message..my wife had sent me a text that didn't come through on entune..when I looked at my phone I saw the message and the auto reply on that I was driving.

I realize I have an iPhone and what I did may not apply, but..

first issue, three panel layout does not work, switched to two panel layout with audio on left and nav on right. then everything started to work. and has not crashed since

next issue, notifications were not turned on the phone, somehow they got turned off during an update, turned them back on and it worked again

don't think it has anything to do with the layout. I've been using 2 panel the whole time. going to see if turning of the autoreply on the phone makes any difference, but again, it's been on the whole time and I was previously receiving messages through entune..

don't think I had an update, but it's worth checking.

Just turned off the auto reply while driving setting on my phone..will see if that makes any difference.

I just received an email regarding a mandatory update due to the removal of some apps. (I think spotify and pandora were going away) It may have changed some of your settings.

On Apple after update to iOS12 I no longer get text messages on the radio.

So no clue.

Awaiting updates on November 3rd when they update entune.

One of the recent IOS updates disables texting while driving. You have to answer that "I'm not driving" to enable it. I don't use my phone in the car and don't even have it paired anymore (that's another thing that sometimes needs to be redone after an update) so it's not an issue for me; but may be a cause of your problem. I don't know how well other manufacturers do with this, but there are countless threads here dealing with Toyota's problems with Entune, Nav and phone problems. As a result, there are many threads about aftermarket systems and solutions.

This sounds like an automated item with the phone. Samsung S7's here. Never turn on "Driving Mode". Works as it should.

Go out to your 4Runner. turn on to ACCS, and let your phone connect.
Go into your Bluetooth settings, select the 4Runner. In the next screen, enable 'Show Notifications'. That will allow you to get text notifications through the 4Runner.

When I did the iOS update, it disabled the 'Show Notifications' option and I turned it back on and it works fine now.

Bingo! Tried what you suggested and it seems to be working again now. Thank you!

No problem.

When I got my first 4Runner ('15 TEP w/8K on the odo, bought from a GMC dealer to get out of new truck with issues), I didn't know about that, and found out about it about a year later when I happened to run across a video from a toyota dealer that went through the whole pairing set up.

:wow: Didn't realize my screen would read out texts. Just set this up with those directions. Works perfect, thanks.
