Entune Resetting - anyone have firmware file?

My 2015 TRD Pro is having Entune reset issues. Dealership wants $60 for the file to update the firmware. Does anyone happen to have it? It could not be simpler to update.

The file is: 13TDANNA-DA00_0212.kwi.

Details on how to update it are available in T-SB-0035-16, which you can google.

It's about as complicated as inserting a tape into a VCR and pressing play, and a classic example of 'stealership' tactics.

Really appreciate it if someone could help.

Have you tried a different dealer? I had issues with a local dealer pulling a similar stunt, trying to charge me for a minuscule task, so I found a dealer a town over who was more than happy to fix it for free.

As for your etune, will it not just download the files automatically via your phone? Mine had to update and it did so automatically, would think your problem would "fix itself" the same way.

I was about to take my girlfriend's 2014 to the dealer to pay for the update in hope it would help with her stereo's rebooting problems (keep in mind, I'm Entune ignorant). I read a thread about updating through the Entune app on your phone so she downloaded the app to her phone and plugged it in to the truck. Update magically appeared. So far so good. If you haven't yet, make sure you try this first. Good luck.

I have a 2017 and we are iOS users. I still can't get the text messages to show up on our screens. I don't care about not reading texts on the radio screen, but it just irritates me that I can't figure it out after reading and watching how to videos.

Sounds like a warranty item to me... I would be adamant the dealer do it even if it was out of warranty.

If its out of warranty its easier to get them to tack that item onto something else like an oil change. Getting the car into the stall is half the battle and being friendly with a service adviser can go a long way too.

I also am looking for the file. Only 1 local dealership, and they wont budge on being 10k miles out of warranty. Anyone know where I can download it from?

Update: I just finished installing the new software version. It was easy and took about 10 minutes total time. Hopefully this stops the rebooting while charging my phone.

I noticed my Entune system reboots when I charge the phone with the USB port. That is the only time it reboots.
I will be updating the software today.
