So they got rid of the one thing I used. Entune is a steaming pile of dung.
You can still use Bluetooth or USB to listen to Pandora.

Yeah...Entune is pretty useless. Is any car infotainment system ever going to be able to compete with Apple CarPlay anyway? Who looks up weather, stocks or gas prices on their car when their iPhone is so much better.
That being said, if you like Entune, Slacker radio is still there and does the same thing as Pandora.

One of the issues I've found with the Slacker app on the entune system is that you can only access the first 6 (or so) custom stations on your list while driving. Only when the vehicle stops can you scroll to the next several screens to select a channel. Also, they are alphabetized, so hopefully you like Abba or Allmans or Anthrax a whole lot....

I think Sirius XM recently bought Pandora. My guess, they didn't want a service that is widely used for free to compete with their paid service, so they ended the Pandora accessibility with entune (and I would assume other vehicle platforms as well). I could be wrong, that's just the first thing I thought when I received the notification of the update.

Pandora on entune sucked anyway, even with a premium subscription to pandora, entune would only allow like 6-10 song skips when tuning pandora.

[RANT = on]They should dump the whole pile of steaming mess and just replace with two apps, CarPlay and Android Auto.
As of right know my truck is 5 years old and I stopped receiving any update support for this piece of sh!t system when the truck was three years old. The last supported update is from 08/01/2016. So lame. Expensive worthless junk. To boot the dash cluster is crap to you have to buy questionable quality dash trims to accommodate aftermarket single and double din head units.

The huge growing pains of car manufacturers being software distributors is all to readily apparent. The geezers are losing by leaps and bounds.
I really wish someone way smarter than me would dissect this system and build a more open version. I am super surprised it has happened yet to be honest.

Entune update removed a bunch of stuff
I have a 2018 Limited and earlier this week I got the Entune update that removed Pandora. Not sure if by design but the update also removed the ability to skip tracks and I could no longer see song/track/album art information displayed on the head-unit. The only thing that appeared when I was in blue tooth audio mode was "device connected"... I called Entune support and they said that's not supposed to happen - I called my local Toyota service center and they had no idea either - not sure if I got a bad update, or what.
At any rate I pulled the trigger and ordered a complete after-market setup from Crutchfield. New headunit and all the cables/accessories to retain steering wheel control, factory amp/sub, and backup camera.
WELL this morning I go out to start the car, and go back in to get a cup of coffee - I come out and VIOLA - album art, song info, etc. is all back and my track skip controls are back as well (they didn't work regardless of what audio app I was using on the phone). Now with a $1,000 after-market radio on a UPS truck I'm not sure if I should still rip the Entune out or leave it in - it does suck, but does the job (when an update doesn't break it).
Anyone else pull the OEM HU out and not look back?

I have an aftermarket unit sitting in my cart on the crutchfield site, not quite as expensive as yours but close..just haven't felt the need to pull the trigger..
