Error Code P0170 (First Bank Lean) 3.4L V6

Ok kids...time to put on our thinkin' caps!

I am no mechanic but am learning more all the time. Scenario, 1999 4Runner SR5, 190,000 miles...very loved miles.

Maintenance on the truck has been spot on since the day I drove it off the lot back in 1998!

Fast forward to 8 months ago, check engine light kicks on for the very first time since I bought it. Had the code pulled at Checkers, P0170 (First Bank Lean). I decide that the first thing I would try was the O2 sensors, since I don't think had ever been replaced.

3 weeks ago, light comes back on. Same error code. Ok, so now I am a little worried. I am going to pull the air box apart and clean the mass air flow sensor....

What else can I do to eliminate small things before I assume that my manifold gasket or something big like that is leaking air?

Anybody else been down this road? It's also note-worthy that the truck doesn't feel any different to me. It's still runs great...in fact the most recent light kicked on after driving it 850 miles from Phoenix to Lake Tahoe...damn lights been on since.
