I am totally with you! I have been looking for days to find these ones you have posted here from Sonar. All I can find is the black very tough to find the chrome ones. The pics I have seen of them they look way sweet! I would get the black but am having all my lights painted with a light black coating at a shop and the black on black may be too deep.

From what I have seen on here most guys like the older style lights with LED's vs these new updated euro ones. I myself think these look sweet and have been online all day trying to find someplace that has them in chrome that sells them at a reasonable price.

yea im not really feeling the is300 style lights on the 4runners but if it makes u happy do it!

I just did my own led tail lights using my old tail lights and $35 worth of high flux leds, a few zeners and resistors.

I have those Sonar units myself-pretty sure there are pics on my Facebook link.

They work fine-but I do believe it's a case of you get what you pay for-the upper seal between lenses and plastic could be better done. I may get out the hot glue gun and seal them up a bit better.

In my opinion save up for those pictured by Ch of Bodom. And he has a great install video as well.

thanks Ron Helmuth for showin me your pics, very cool Runner... love white Runners and like your white rear spoiler idea. Eurolights look good too you got the black ones.

ReconCmdr the clears that are popular around here are cool too but how do you get by with those? Red Brake lights are needed not to mention Turn signals. they're not legal eh?

I have these on mine:

They are the smoked LED type off ebay. IMHO those Altezza type tail lights would look better on a car than a truck or 4X4 but ya...no offense to anyone who likes/has them.

Hey Norcal, do you have the link to where you found those all clears. In DE you have to have the red/yellow's also, but i'd seriously contemplate those.

Thanks

EDIT: also, to answer your question you just put in red/yellow bulbs.

I had those on my 3g and loved them. They were the black/carbon fiber look though. As soon as I get a chance they'll more than likely be posted up for sale since I dont have the 3g anymore.

I think they look cheap. It's a 4Runner not a Civic.

01-02 Tails are classy, and the OEM style LED tails are classy. Everything else is just....Lindsay Lohan- trying to look classy but failing miserably.

I guess I am not quite sure what you are asking..lol. The Sonars I ended up ordering have red and white lights in a black housing instead of the chrome housing. Just could not find them anywhere. I am having the clear plastic covers over the front and rear smoked to match my new satin black paint job.

Nailed it.

Euros really don't look good on anything IMO. Just look really cheap.

Here's what I did. Remove '99 tails and install used '01-'02 tails. Then remove the amber turn signal bulbs and replace with chrome/amber. Clear on top, red on the bottom, no cheap LED boards to fail...and inexpensive! I could snap a pic later if you like.

I did the same thing with my LED tails

I should have painted the blinker led board or mounted it further back in the housing.

Also I arranged the blinker amber LEDs in a U shape to look cool but ended up not being visible enough in the daytime so I put the bulb back in..this is what it used to look like. (the photo was taken before the board was mounted so its not lined up correctly )

You can still see the U shape but my camera can't catch it.

Mine has the euro lights on it came with it when i bought it. They look alright i just prefer stock if i had the choice
