European Migrant Crisis Thread...Deleted?

I found it an informative discussion too. Not sure why it would be deleted but seems that someone with administrative privileges found it necessary to terminate the discussion so people stay uninformed and are able to stick their heads back in the sand.

Just to state the obvious, I am not an Admin./ Mod.

I'm sure it's in the back room, out of public view. Why it was moved to the back room, I have no idea.
 
I started the thread and I didn't like where it was going and decided I didn't want to be associated with it.

Thanks for explaining, I wasn't sure whether we had violated any rules or something. Just curious where it went.

Alrighty then, so it's not in the back room. Usually people don't delete the threads they start.

The one exception was that one young guy this past summer that started one BS thread after another. Then when people questioned his far-fetched claims, he'd delete the thread.

It was sort of entertaining, in a pathetic way.

Yeah it is lame I've just become a bit paranoid about social media these days.

I'll go hide under a rock now. Flame away.
 
The PC police are merciless these days.

Anyways the thread hadn't been commented in awhile and I figured if someone wanted to complain about the upcoming destruction of Europe they could do it in a new thread.

I can understand that. I don't do any of the Social Media crap.

At one time I talked a lot more freely about my "job", because some people were interested. Well, either a member of that website, or just someone lurking, decided to try and cause problems for me.

They weren't successful, but knowing that there are people who are so lacking in anything interesting in their own lives, that they will make attempts to mess with yours, was a real eye-opener.

I've always been worried about that. My truck, license plate, name, etc. etc. is on this forum alone and someone could easily track me down. I stopped caring though, you can only be so cautious and if you post online at ALL you are giving out information even if you do everything to NOT give out information and someone willing can always find you. I'm just glad that (outside of school) I live deep in the woods and have my german shepherd and guns in case someone wants to get frisky.

Guess that's the consequence of voicing your opinion nowadays, or having a linkedin account, or just how technological and interconnected everything these days is. Oh well :laser:

Love how you guys are quick to pull the "mods are the root of all evil and impede the right of free speech" card lol.
Seriously, I have been a mod for about a month now and 99.9% of the time it simply involves removing spam and banning the spammers. The other 0.1% is spent cautioning a few wahoos on language, reminding people to play nice and such. Contrary to popular belief, there are very few topics that get "deleted" unless the thread turns into a poop storm of epic proportions.

Now, I have moved several threads because they were in the wrong place and I have banned a few long time posters because warnings and infractions didn't work. Otherwise? Every morning I look at the mod sub forum, see what was reported and delete and ban spammers. That's it.

I've been around here for awhile and most of you know me and know how I am. If you ever have a question, simply pm me or mention me in a thread. I will always (always!) tell you what is going on or what I know. I take my "job" as mod seriously only to keep this forum a good place to come and share information.

Problem is NOT with you...you and I know that there are trigger happy mods, esp here in this section! You once complained about the same thing.
