Ever feel like.......

I see that you live in Colorado Springs... how bad could it be???
Just kidding, sort of. Man, if I lived there I would ride my mountain bike, trail run or hike every single day - stuff like that helps reduce stress levels and makes you feel better in general.

Ask yourself what makes you happy, and be honest with your answer. Then try your best to do that as much as possible.

100% man. OP, you could be a week away from quitting your job and becoming a hairbag ski bum for the winter, and honestly those are the happiest people I've ever met because they shape their lives around what they love to do, not their job. I still teach skiing part time and most of the instructors I work with are insanely well educated- engineers, former medical professionals, successful marketing and salespeople- but the thing they all have in common is they found that they were profoundly unhappy because they worked a job they didn't like to buy crap they didn't need.

Must be a QC thing. I am in the same field and feel the same way. Although I think mine may stem from living in the South. If I was in your location I think i'd live with it.

I've been a gypsy the past few years moving around for my company. No telling where they'll put me in 14 months once this new project is over.

I'm living with Colorado, I like it (2nd time here). That and about 6 other states I've lived in.

I wouldn't be much of a ski bum since I don't ski. I'd be one of those guys you hear about getting rescued or being made fun of on youtube.

There's nothing wrong with starting over as long as you never quit.

Having said that, beware of those who are constantly restarting because they're either not learning from prior experiences, or have become stuck in complacency.

Go out there and build your dreams, brother.

haha well maybe its time to learn? But that's just one example of what I see up here- people following their passions. Its also interesting to see people have to leave because of obligations they refuse to cut ties to. Human nature is a funny thing, and it seems far more convenient to be a slave to it rather than expend the effort to take control and make things better; I know I'm guilty of that, and I think everyone is to some extent. just interesting food for thought.

maybe you both are on to something here. i found my current profession by accident, i was just helping out a friend, and i love it. maybe you should try something you wouldnt usually, push outside your comfort zone, and maybe you'll find something you never would have thought of and end up loving it. same goes for relationships too

also, this is worth a read.

Thank you for sharing that article. It's full of great advice.

I agree that most people are responsible for their own happiness and their own future.

His dating analogy is near perfect as well.
