Ever had so much trouble you say to hell with modding?

After troubleshooting my new horn installation, installing $30 lights just to yank them not even a month later, and to install a set of PIAA's which I probably won't use all that often that I am saying to hell with doing any mods. I can fully understand if you are a offroader true to the word and mods are just a necessity. But if you are a driver that enjoys being on a dirt road, or when it snows, but other than that you do not go "off roading" it's just not worth it.
Once I replace that part on my center console I am through. Unless something stock breaks, like the radio it's just not worth it: for me at least.

I unserstand what you're saying. If you have a legitamate need to do mods, like in offroading I can see it. But installing useless gadgets to make your car cooler is kids shit. I'm happy with a decent stereo and maybe some new wheels. Neon lights, aftermarket fog lights, body kits, and all that is a waste of money IMO. The stupidest thing people add to thier cars is TV screens, playstations and DVD players. Who needs that crap in thier car?

I couldn't agree more! Unless is a neccessity or you can't live without it:bonk: , you'll add the mod, in the end when you sell your 4runner or trade it in, you'll never get all the money you put in. I had a 92' , upgraded the entire sound system, had a nice set of after market wheels, and all I got for it was $2,000. At least I used it for my 4runner.

Sometimes it's not whether you use em or not but the satisfaction of knowing that you've done a mod on your own. Usually the mod doesn't work out as planned (which is always in my case.... :50cal: ).

One of the best things about modding is that if you do plan to do a mod, ask someone to help ya out on this board or any other board. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to give a lending hand. This way you can meet the other person you've always been messaging! Even the most basic mod will be that much more interesting doing it w/ another set of hands. You never know, there might be someone out there that wanted to do that exact same mod you plan to do but didn't want to try it alone. now ya got a buddy that does!
