Every day I realize that the T4R was the right choice

Otherwise it was a Taco or a Outback turbo. The Outback has shitty approach angles, no locking center, and no lowspeed transfer case. The Taco doesn't have AWD and can't road trip with 4 people. The end!

I had a 2005 4Runner for three years, and it was a good vehicle. No other vehicle in its class even comes close. The worst part was having to put fuel in it, though.


Even my '08 Mustang GT looks like a miser in comparison.

You know, I feel the same way almost everytime I drive it. A Long Taco tempts me sometimes but being able to use full-time 4wd is a biggy for me. I just like it.

A long bed dual cab is something I considered, but price, gas mileage, and the effects of looooooooong wheelbase on 4 wheeling plus no AWD....

I must admit that IF i were to get a 4runner again, then i would go with the V6...i just love having the option of running it in 2wd and 4wd...that is one thing i miss on my 2002 4runner.

I traded an '07 Outback for my '07 V6 4Runner. Hated the Outback. Looked nice inside, but so boring, 4cyl very underpowered, I was depressed every day I drove it. After 2K I got rid of it. I wish I had the money for the V8 4runner though. The only thing I would trade it (if had to) is the Tacoma.

Wow, the Toyotas, Lexus, and Acura in my family have treated us very well. I still can't believe Acura is below the industry average. I thought they are built fairly well.

I still couldn't get myself to buy a V6 4Runner ONLY because of the part-time 4WD.

I read somewhere that leaving a V6 4Runner in 4HI would damage the truck. I know that was the case on all pre 4th gens.

Nope, perfectly fine. In fact, from 1999 (limited model only i think) and up, you can run 4HI all day long on all surfaces as long as the center diff was UNlocked.
