You know the acronym: J_E_E_P (Just Empty Every Pocket).
Sadly, it's true. I've owned Jeep's my entire life and, finally, made the move to a 4Runner. Maybe it was just all the great trips I'd taken in Jeep's... all the memories over the years that made me so forgiving to such unreliable product. I don't know. Regardless, the brand is obviously not what it once was.
I've been a long-time lurker here but felt compelled to register after just purchasing a '05 V8 Limited (Black, 70k miles). Found it in Texas, flew down and drove it back to Denver 2 days ago. 4WD doesn't seem to add much re-sale value in the Lone Star State. Or - I got lucky or both. Had it looked over earlier today with a glowing bill of health and looking forward to more snow and a great Colorado ski season schlepping up I-70 to the mountains.
Ended up going with Michelin XLT MS2's for new treads. I know, I know. Not everyone's a fan. I just don't offroad as much as I should. I have XLT MS's on the Grand Cherokee and really like them. Perfect for a daily-driver and hitting the slopes. I don't see doing White Rim near Moab on them though.
That's it! I've learned a lot here and look forward to sharing the truck's mod progress and trip / snow pics.
