Exhaust Mod

I would like to drive with the rear window down without getting exhaust inside. Any ideas? From what I've read, the spoiler makes no difference. I have a 04 v8. Thanks.

either cut off the last resonator and then add a tip to the side or purchase a full aftermarket cat back (ala magnaflow or borla/TRD)

put a bend on your exhaust so it comes off to the side. i think there are a few guys here that have done that. it looks good too.

I've also heard turning out the exhaust makes no real difference either. Have you already had the sulfur TSB completed? It doesn't totally eleminate the smell, but reduced it drastically in my case. I'll get the smell every once in a while but not as bad as pre-TSB. I also have the magnaflow too so that didn't change things...

thanks, I was hoping the side exhaust would alleviate the problem but it sounds like the answer might be no. The smell is an issue but I'm more concerned with the CO2 and other carbons that my family will be breathing. Now I know why Toyota is one of the few (or only??) suv manufacturers that has a rear window that goes down.............The stealers shouldn't present the auto window as a key differentiator if you can't use it while driving. Does anyone actually use the window function beyond carrying a piece of lumber for a short distance?

I drive with the sunroof open and the back window down. It keeps the wind noise down by opening the back window. Only problem is that the exaust smells real bad. But I do it anways, I like how the air passes...

exaust

I had the TSB done for my 04 v8 and after about 20 miles of the new cat breaking in I can not smell the sulfer at all. If it aint raining my windows are down. I would not bend the exhaust. Make toyota fix the exhaust smell and if they do it right you wont smell it at all, even when you gun it.

Is the TSB upgrade only for 4th gens? I get the sulfur smell alot in my 97 and it bugs the crap out of me. Any suggestions?
