exhaust question

So I have been running no muffler, I just unbolted the exhaust between the cat and muffler. i noticed that you can unbolt the cat and the resenator i think it is, that is the smaller looking cat that is on the downpipe...
if i were to to take out the "resonator/cat" thing could i still pass smog with the second cat and a cherrybomb muffler?

and is there any downfalls of doing any of this?
cause the only downside of running no mufflers is that first gears revs to about 4800-5000 RPM when i step on it hard haha

sorry im not answering your question, but do you have any updated photos of what your truck looks like now?

i just PMed you.
but ill throw some pics up here too :)

by the way, running the exhaust with no muffler or cat sounds like sh!t haha i just unbolted it to hear it, NO GOOD

i ran no muffler for a day and had to put it back on.. i couldnt drive without getting a head ache it was loud and dint sound tight at all. i ended up just cutting off all the pipe behind my muffler, it sounds a bit deeper but its definitely not aftermarket sound...

You have the Cali. emissions which has 2 cats--the 'resonator' is the front cat. I doubt you can pass smog with only one--you would probably throw a P0420 code and not even get to drive through (at least that's what they do with a lit CEL here in NJ).

even if it doesn't throw a code, you won't pass the visual here. gotta leave it in, or at least swap it back in for your smog day.

I'm runnin' no cat and duals from a 18" Magnaflow... Throws a CEL but can get that cleared at Auto Zone... Sounds good IMO, I'll try to get a sound clip up soon...
