Exhaust tips--worth the +/- $50??

Ok, so I got the PIAA wipers on today. I have the rear wiper blade and some more replacement bulbs on order. Since I have the aluminum custom made hitch receiver, I'd like to round out the back end mod's with a exhaust tip. I'd REALLY love to re-do the whole exhaust, but we all know that's several hundred. Plus, I'm not a qualified welder, so I'd need to add on taking it into a shop to have it installed.
So I've basically narrowed down my choice of exhaust tips to two styles. I really like this one, but it is just a bolt on.
Made by Gibson, I'm thinking this is the one that is going to be the easiest for me to install.

However, this one made by Flow Tech is neat looking too, and since it has glass packs, you know it's going to modify the sound a bit. I'm not sure which one would fit my current exhaust as they have one that fits 2.250' Tailpipe or 2' Tailpipe. I believe these can be bolted on, but I'm thinking a weld job would be best.

I wanted to hear opinions/thoughts/warnings & experiences please. Also, if you have them, whom to buy from. Pics are from Auto parts warehouse website. So I want to make sure that this isn't a dumb idea for the sake of appearance and yes I do know that there is no actual increase of horse power. I just want to make my current horsepower look even more "Cowboy'd Up" with fancier and not practical spurs!!

Bolt on is fine but I would weld it on just to be safe. Not as bling but just a simple crome slash cut.

Thank you! That is what I thought. I don't have a welder, but maybe my Dad does. I just thought of JB Weld too. I can run a bead of that on the stock pipe, and then attach the tip over it.

haha... that is a cool way to use jb weld..

if you stop by a muffler shop have them tack it on. just tell them you will give them like $10 cash to weld it. if you dont got any muffler shops around you should at least use a short self tapping screw with a drill.

Just wanna let you know that jb weld softens when heated up. It may not hold the weight of the tip.

Ahh, well then, JB Weld was NOT a good idea then! Thank you very much. I'll start paying attention today as I drive into the city for muffler shops and see if I offer a little cash, if someone will do a few quick zaps for me. Thanks!!!

that would be a good idea.. i would hate to see you tip fall off and maybe hit some one else car. then you just wasted your money too.

i use jb weld instead of super glue now. it works better then most 2 part epoxies. i just dont think it could hold any weight. it does seal holes and leaks very well though.
