Exhaust Tips

What kinds of exhaust tips are there that fit 4th gen? And how do they install. Most say no drilling required, single bolt installation. How does that work, I looked at the exhaust pipe and there's nowhere for any bolts. Please help out with any information you have. Thanks.

The exhaust tips normall just slip onto your stoch exhaust tip. On the new exhaust tip there is a bolt you tighten that goes into the stock exhaust tip (doesn't penetrate, just puts pressure).

Just measure the diameter of the stock tip and find a tip that fits over it.

I say... cut out the resonator, get the tip pointed out to the side behind the rear wheel. It will reduce the amount of fumes coming back into the cab with the back window open. A shop can do it in like 15-30 mins. I have seen cars with the "bolt on" muffler tips and you can see the original tip inside.

Well i bought the valor exhaust tip. Looks fine to me.

Bolt on tips with clamps are used even on luxury cars. I wouldn't bother with welding unless you are compulsive obsessive.

Yeah but how many people walk around staring down exhaust pipes?

well, I didnt do it too much to show off, I didnt it because I always drive with the back window open and I HATE that sulfur smell. I got the TSB but I still get it from time to time.

In any case, the valor seems to be the tip of choice for many people. Glad you got something you liked. Do it right the first time....
