Exhaust Upgrades?

I've been looking into some exhaust upgrades and I'm not sure what to do. I'm looking for a reasonably cheap but good sounding method. So far I found glasspacks to be pretty cheap but I'm not sure of the sound. Any suggestions? Has anyone done any exhaust upgrades and can offer some advice?

do you want loud or quiet?
what engine do you have?

if you want a tame sound, a resonator before the muffler will help with the drone.

if you want a little louder, do no use a resonator before the muffler.

those glasspack / straight through designs will be loudest.

I replaced mine with the Walker OEM replacement. It is inexpensive, very good fit, decent quality and gives a slightly louder than stock exhaust note, probably because the muffler is not packed like the OE original, it is very light. I will use this again when the time comes.

Gibson Elite

Here is what it sounds like with the DT Headers and Y pipe - it will be few decibels quieter if you don't have those upgrades - I ran just the exhaust for about a year before adding the front end stuff.

Price has since gone up since I bought it - used to be around $350 - but it is stainless and will last longer than your frame will if it hasn't been treated.

You're going to need to provide some more info to get accurate responses for your truck. Year, V8 vs. V6, etc. You might also search the 4th Gen forum as there are many threads complete with videos of what that person's setup sounds like.
