Exhaust

Had this exact muffler on my 3rd gen for 2 years, and reportedly it's still going strong with the current owner. Sounded amazing.

Of course, you won't realize any power gains w/ a new exhaust, but it can certainly make driving more exciting.

Cherrybomb Vortex is the best sounding muffler on the 3.4 hands down. Not insanely loud but not quiet either.

Go with Gibson. Got the same tone as the TRD, but half the price. Jason B

I've been running flowmaster's version of the 50 series tuned for minimal interior resonance (Flowmaster® Part #: 942552) since August. Prior to it I had a stock type muffler that was rusted out. I didn't mind the sound of the old one but it was pretty loud inside - almost shout to be heard by the passenger loud. I spend a fair amount of time on the highway and the drone would wear on everyone. I couldn't be happier with the new muffler. It's loud enough outside the rig to be heard a ways off but the interior doesn't drone at any speed (so far I've go about 8k miles driving it) and no more yelling to be heard while driving.

I have 100,000 miles on my TRD cat back, well worth the extra money I paid for it over a stock system. Never a leak or rust or trouble of any kind. second choice would be Borla. Not sure if you can still find the TRD...TRD is a side exit with a bologna cut

I like my borla. I like the sound over the old stock one that was on.
I did not put on a whole exhaust, just had it wielded in by a shop. my pipes were good. the stock system is 2.25 inches where the other kits are usually 2.5 inches. Don't think you would gain anything with the cat being only 2.25 and the bottle neck the headers make going around the back of the engine. ( however the borla is 2.5)
the one thing I don't like about most kits is they seem to all exit out the back. I like the side exit. Not sure where it would exit out back with the stock trailer hitch. Plus years back there was "crap" about the safety of rear exit systems with tailgate windows down and noise and exhaust being sucked in. Don't know how true that is for our trucks.

I have TRD Headers, Magnaflow Hi-flow cat, and a Flowmaster original 40 muffler. I'm all over the place haha but I absolutely love the way it sounds.

Note: When I originally made the "Loud Runner" account it was because of my sound system, but now it kind of applies to my exhaust as well.

What do you like? I've heard the borla, trd and flowmasters and the vortex sounds better than all of them IMO.

Ive only heard youtube videos. But anything with cherry in the name is usually to loud. IMO its a little loud on a motor that just sounds like crap with any muffler. So hard to make our 3.4 sound good without drone on highway. Could be I feel this way coming from v8 4x4's and turbo 4 bangers.

IMO the Walker SS Quiet Flow muffler is the best of both worlds. A little louder than stock with no drone.

I just put one on a couple months ago after running a MagnaFlow since I got it. So quite, and so nice. There was a noticeable performance drop though. The MagnaFlow sounded good at first, but then you get tired of it.

Here's my personal video. There's literally zero drone on the highway.

Thats good it doesnt drone. Im very surprised it doesnt. Ive never had any muffler not drone on highway that puts out a good amount of sound over stock. I mean my sub was droning just on your video. But that doesnt mean the muffler will. LOL. But just quick search shows reviews stating not much drone on that muffler. Little loud for my liking.

Correct. I can help someone out who want to try the Gibson on a 3rd gen. I've found the system that will work. Contact me via email or text and I'll do something special.

JayRolla Look at my other videos, it's not loud at all in the cabin. It's only loud because the phone is right below it. After about 2100 rpm the sound cuts out almost entirely
